what is the Taj Mahal?

16 October 2003

The Taj Mahal is the codename for the new explosives magazine I designed and Joe had built for the Boomershoot. It’s a little gold plated in terms of features, but the cost of doing it alone was very high. It turned out steel was faster and cheaper than cement, and we ended up with a very nice building. There are pictures over on pix, so check them out. Soon it will be white and enclosed.

Taj Mahal pictures

8 October 2003

I took some pictures of the Taj Mahal today, give them a look. We’ll be picking it up around 0830 Friday and installing it - have to be back in town by 1500 to pick up the kids, so it will be tight. In other news, the transfer case was working - all the time. The guys at Palouse Country Transmission unhooked the TCM (transfer case monitor) and all is OK. I’m going to have Hacker fix it next week. I picked up a gallon of DTM to paint the Taj with - $50 a gallon! holy crap! I need to get some thinner to remove the grease pencil and the like, but it should look schweet once it’s done. Now I need to get a plaque for the door. Mundy’s pointed out we didn’t put a handle on the door - duh. So that’s another item on the list.
