Went to church Sunday
17 July 2006Here is the invite I sent out:
The Church of the Ballistic Coefficient will be holding services this Sunday in Kirkland
starting at 10:00 sharp. Following a half-hour of fellowshipping about the three rules
of safety, the flock will adjourn to Monroe for outdoor festivities. Guidance will
be provided; you may carpool if you wish (the CBC’s van can hold a few more adults).
After the celebration (when everyone gets bored or hungry) we can return to Kirkland
for comestibles.Meet at my apartment at 10:00 AM. Anyone that wants to celebrate should have the three
rules memorized:
- All guns are loaded. Always.
- Do not point a gun at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
I am expecting six or seven worshippers. What I will provide those people:
…
You are welcome to obtain your own ammunition if you desire.I will provide additional paper and clay targets. I have plenty of ear protection
(both muffs and plugs), but I only have one spare set of eye protection. You should
acquire your own shooting goggles before Sunday. This is an unimproved area, so bring
a camping chair if you want to sit anywhere other than the ground.
Oscar, Enrique,
and Adia showed up. We celebrated for about five hours and left. Fun was had by
all. I have been asked how quickly my video camera recovers from loud sounds (how
fast does the audio compressor release?) so here’s
a video, you decide. You can hear the birds almost instantly after the muzzle
blast.
