I understand you hate Microsoft

1 October 2006

Really, I do. DOS probably got your dog pregnant and left the milk out a couple times in college. Perhaps Windows 3.11 never paid you back for that $100 it was totally going to spend to get his car fixed but you later found out he spent on whisky and hookers. Exchange server - I heard what it did, it was in all the papers.

That said, if you’re participating in one of our “managed betas” you have direct access to product group (PG) members. Why not use it wisely? Taking out that lost weekend in Vegas you spent with Flight Simulator on me isn’t going to make your life happier. Being under direct attack myself (someone called me a PM!) for explaining the process of getting a mobile release ready, I can see why PGs just disengage and let the beta team run the betas. The payback for participation is a lot of stories about how fucked up Microsoft is.

On one hand, people in the beta want beta software and they don’t mind a few bugs. On the other hand, there might be a bug that could result in a bricked device. Can you imagine releasing that to the beta group?

On the Soapbox beta, there are people driving insightful topics on VISTA SUCKS and YOUR PRODUCT TOTALLY SUCKS BALLS. Thanks for the feedback!
