As usual, everyone goes crazy when there’s the slightest disruption of services. The police in Bellevue are directing traffic at the one gas station with power (AM/PM on NE 8th); we drove by, the line runs from NE 8th to Main Street. Trees are down all over the place; many roads are blocked by power lines and trees.
Security at work sent out a couple of emails telling everyone to stay home because there’s no power on campus. Alan and I stopped by and grabbed my laptop (so I could blog!) and cruised around. The Safeway in downtown Bellevue is open and taking plastic; they had lots of batteries and water. We’re at a Subway; they are out of bread. Wraps only! The hardship!
Without the inverter, I’d be boned for blogging. We drove to Factoria and parked outside T Mobile’s WHQ to get UMTS service. The Seattle Times has lots of updates.
