The latest tussle in RKBA circles is over felons and firearm possession. The short version of my argument is that making having a gun a crime is not needed; if they commit another crime with a firearm, there are already laws covering that crime. If they don’t commit a crime, they aren’t a problem. Several times on The First 48 Hours, I’ve seen cases of self-defense where the felon would be dead if they had not had a firearm; sadly, the felons were charged with “felon in possession”. For me, I don’t see a reason to penalize them for protecting themselves.

12 January 2008In some ways, abstraction layers are nice. You trade control for ease of use. I keep re-experiencing maintaining software isn’t interesting when you want stuff to Just Work. To that end, I’ve decided to part ways with the last public vestige of life as a system administrator and start living Life as a Service; in a practical sense, it means you were redirected here instead of where you probably wanted to go. Sorry.
