OK..I found how to make a hard reset an htc touch diamond p3700:
voldown, central key and reset botom at the same time, then text appear, choose number 1 for restore manufacturer default pressing volup or 2 for restore munufacturer default and format moviMand pressing voldown and wait a few seconds.
My gripe is with Sprite Software. I understand that all of these things don’t all work alike, but it was a deal specifically for my phone, and a restore after flashing to new firmware resulted in all the old programs being loaded without any ability to uninstall (they didn’t appear in the add/remove programs list)
So many thanks for that info. My phone was bricked for 2 months, frozen screen in locked mode after instaling skype.
I followed your instruction and it worked!
There’s even a cellphone repair store who tried for a week to fix my phone without any result.
lol — hard reset on an iPhone:
1. Press both buttons (there are only 2.)
2. Hold for five seconds.
3. There is no step three.

HTC – How do I not love thee.
For the second time in less than a year, I have lost all my saved information because the screen desensitized/froze.
This blows.
