If you’re looking for information on the Z2K9, read this link. My Zune 30 bricked, too. The fix is to wait until after noon GMT and turn it back on.
Microsoft has great instructions on how to hard reset your Zune to factory defaults. If you get the message “Zune must erase all content”, this may help. Of course, I just got this error:

Tell me about it.
I really like my Zune. But there are errors that I cannot reset. And I’ve been on the support line with them trying to figure out why it’s reserving 3+ Gbytes for no reason.

my friend gave me his old zune its the new 8gb… wel i did a hard reset and it told me to plug it into my computer to update it…. wel it wont update!!! its telling me to reset it but I cant!!!
