It would cost a couple hundred bucks, but this was my idea for “asshole” targets this year:
The red is paracord, the blue is boomerite, and the yellow is helium balloons.
Absolutely. Only potential problem is having someone shoot off the anchor lines, and having Boomerite floating off on the breeze to land who-knows-where. This would annoy the homeland security types.
As a foolish youth I “experimented” with aerial explosives (Hydrogen balloons) with much merriment and only a few singed arm hairs.
May I suggeste, based on my own, unpublished prior “research” that each boomerite target have an additional, individual string holding it to the ground, rather than relying on the paired main cords to hold the whole thing down should one break?
While your design looks functional, having a backup tether to each target would make it safer. Might also hold each target a little more steady, leading to more hits.
