I guess seven years will do that
In 2005, when I went to work for Microsoft, I bought a new LCD for cheap. Seven years on, I finally bought a small upgrade – mostly so I can go back to a dual-head setup. What strikes me most is how very, very yellow the older monitor is. This may be a feature of LED versus LCD, or it may be a feature of age; whatever the reason, I can hardly look at my older monitor now. At this point, I’m keeping it on my desk because it has an integrated USB hub and the replacement monitor doesn’t; I’m sure, in a few weeks, I’ll reclaim the space used by the monitor. In fact, I think that day is the second of May, or perhaps the evening thereof.
My road flare weighs a ton
I picked up a couple of the “My UZI weighs a ton” cigars a while back, and finally got around to smoking them. They were both wide open with almost no draw resistance, burning to the last third in near-record times; I’ve had road flares burn longer. I’m used to the NUB line, which is a slow smoke the size of your thumb; the UZI is the same diameter, with probably the same amount of tobacco, but almost three times the length. Whatever. The flavor profile was flat with notes of cardboard in the first third, developing into a flavor-free second third. I tossed the last third of both of these out. If this is a full-bodied stick, I don’t know what you guys are smoking.
Meanwhile, in Croatia
I should talk to Joe about adding this to the kickoff.
