Help is on the way for the NFA branch
Tony says they’re hiring 10-12 contract examiners. Horrible graph here. There’s an additional day of delay every two and a half days; time to buy stamps is NOW. If I bought a stamp today, I might get it before the next shoot. Damn.

Here’s a thought: Do away with the NFA branch. I’ll even propose a compromise: If you can pass a NICS check, you can own an NFA/AOW/Suppressor.

I totally agree; I’d also be fine with with no NICS check as a half-step.

We’re still in the Prohibition era of the 1920s. The NFA is one of those holdover relics of the Prohibition era and it’s time to get rid of them all. That would include the BAFTE too, since its only purpose was to enforce the NFA tax and the now modified Prohibition amendment.;
Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.
Notice the last word.
When Prohibition supposedly “ended” in December of 1932, the NFA came along in January of 1933, so corrupt federal agents who were breaking in doors and busting things up to enforce Prohibition could now break down doors and bust things up enforcing the NFA, the new alcohol laws, and tobacco laws.
There is no place for this sort of thing in a free society.
