Turning money into noise, dust
Took a neophyte shooter out to a new shooting spot this weekend. Turned ammo into noise – not much noise, though, as we used a silenced 22 lr pistol. The new place looks fucking awesome – I think I can get out to 1000 yards or so. Upside: it’s an hour outside of Moscow. Downside: Moscow is six hours outside of Seattle.

Which place is this, if you don’t mind me asking? One of the other local boomershoot guys showed me a clearcut not far from Moscow that I’m thinking of putting some steel up in that goes out to 900 yards or so, but it’s kind of a downhill shoot, and a full 1000 would be extra fun.
Do the telecommuter thing! It works great! It has an additional upside in that if recruiters call you up, you can easily brush them off by telling them how you live in North Idaho and have zero interest in moving. If you are actually interested in their position, you can defer that part of the conversation until they’ve gotten hooked on you.

Looking at Google Maps today, there is a road at the far end I couldn’t see from where I was. I want to investigate the area a little more before I give up the location. This is all on USFS/Potlatch land.
