The very best part of the Title II game
is the wait. Nothing like spending money for something that you might not see for the better part of a year – if all goes well. I ended up following my own advice and got something ready for a Form 3 instead of what I wanted; it would have been nice to have a can that worked on the mounts I already have, but you can’t always get what you want. One thing that was interesting is that I’ve bought all of my other Title II stuff at retail (essentially); using a local non-retail SOT, I got the can (with sales tax) for several hundred dollars under MSRP. Hurrah!
This also gives me a forcing function to pick up a major caliber rifle. Right now, I have a caliber gap between 223 and 50BMG; obviously, I got this can because it supports 300WM, so that’s the caliber I’ll be getting. I should have done this a while ago, but I ended up spending that money on a pickup truck I no longer want or need. I’m torn between selling it and keeping it; too small for me, but has actual 4WD and a locking rear diff. Maybe I should build it out as a technical in order to decrease the already pathetic gas mileage.

There is a lot to be said in favor of 4WD. With a big canopy it’ll haul a lot of stuff out of the weather.

Yeah, I know. I’ve considered putting a canopy (or a pop-up camper) on the bed.
