My guess is I will never get to drive on the bridge currently under construction
After the whole “pontoons full of cracks, gushing water doesn’t mean our pontoons aren’t watertight” argument, we have this from California. After driving over the Bay Bridge so many times, I am considering a drive down to Oakland to cross the replacement once complete – we’ll see if that happens, too. The SF-Oakland bridge authority was able to prove the bogus welds weren’t, as far as they cared to look, but I can’t help but be reminded of another incident where engineers were overruled by management. Mother Nature is a bitch, and physics isn’t taking your call, either.
