Delta between luxury cars and plebeian ones
Wired talks about the number of radars and lightbulbs (0) in the newest Mercedes. It isn’t all fit and finish; I like the auto follow and lane minder.

Screw all the road hazard stuff and make it fly. And where’s the head-up targeting, 360 degree traversing minigun with aerial targeting capability? Cheapskate Krauts.

I’m sure you can already buy this in freer climes.

A cool feature for a more practical vehicle would be a built-in 240v/120v generator. I’d also like a 1KW microwave oven in the cab, for heating coffee, sandwiches and the like. Those two features would go together nicely. Power goes out, you power your house, or anyone else’s, from your vehicle. All sorts of benefits to it that are more practical than radar and cameras. Oh, and a built-in, factory winch that operates from either end of the rig. Switches, knobs, handles and other fiddly bits that don’t break would be nice too.
