Surgery

17 October 2009

I took off Thursday to deliver Arden to the oral surgeon Friday morning. It took about an hour, total, to extract four wisdom teeth. She’ll be on the mend for a week or so; distraction of choice during the event? Watching Fight Club on her Zune.

Being in Moscow, even if only for a day or so, reinforces what a mistake I made moving over to Seattle in 2005; clearly, Moscow is my home. Got to see Alan for the first time in a couple years; he’s doing well, even if his choice in rap sucks. Where’s the OG stuff? Lil Wayne? WTFO?

I took over the hardware thinking I might be able to get some shooting in; sadly, there is a football game this weekend so hotels are either sold out or twice the price. I took off Friday evening, arriving home Saturday morning; got ten hours or so of Feynman lectures in. The rental car has a 110 volt AC outlet up front; very nice, but the vehicle overall sucks. Too small.

I was able to drop off a computer I picked up for the kids. For some reason, Steam and Chrome are having problems. I’ll have to do some remote diagnosis sometime.
